Symbols and Traditions

Hi! My name is Sam, and I am 8 years old. I just got back from a trip to Florence, Italy. It was so much fun! One of my favorite parts was learning about Michelangelo, who was a famous artist. We visited a place called the Accademia Gallery where his famous statue, David, is. David is a giant statue made out of marble, and it looks so real. It was amazing to see how detailed it is. Michelangelo made it a long time ago, and people still come from all over the world to see it.

We also went to the Uffizi Gallery, where there are lots of other artworks. I learned that Michelangelo was not only a sculptor but also a painter and an architect. I even got to see some of his drawings! I felt like an explorer discovering new things as I walked through the halls. My mom told me that Michelangelo was a genius, and now I believe her.

Florence is a really cool city with lots of history. I got to eat gelato, which is Italian ice cream, and it was delicious. I can't wait to tell my friends all about my adventure and show them my pictures. If you ever get a chance to visit Florence, you should definitely go. You will learn a lot and have an awesome time!
