Visit to the Birthplace of Islandborn

Hi everyone! My name is Olivia and I'm 8 years old. Today, I want to tell you all about my recent visit to the birthplace of Junot Díaz. It was such an exciting trip and I can't wait to share all the details with you!

First of all, let me tell you where we went. We visited Santo Domingo, which is the capital city of the Dominican Republic. This is where Junot Díaz, the famous author, was born. I was so excited to be in the same city where he grew up and got inspired to write his amazing stories.

One of the coolest things we did was visit a tourist attraction called the Colonial Zone. It's a historic neighborhood in Santo Domingo and it's full of colorful buildings and cobblestone streets. We walked around and I felt like I was stepping back in time! We even got to see the first cathedral ever built in the Americas. It was so beautiful!
