Symbols and Traditions

Hi! My name is Violet, and I am 8 years old. I want to tell you about my amazing trip to Elizabeth, New Jersey. Do you know who Judy Blume is? She is a very famous author, and she grew up in Elizabeth. My mom loves her books, so we decided to visit some cool places there.

One of the best parts of the trip was visiting the main library. It's called the Elizabeth Public Library, and it is so big! They have a special section just for kids, and I found some of Judy Blume’s books there. I even got to sit in a cozy corner and read one of her stories. It felt like I was sharing a secret with Judy Blume because she probably read books there when she was a kid, too.

We also went to this park called Warinanco Park. My dad said Judy Blume might have played there when she was young. We had a picnic and played on the playground. I imagined Judy Blume running around and having fun just like me!

This trip was so much fun. I felt like I was walking in the footsteps of a famous author. If you ever visit Elizabeth, New Jersey, make sure to check out these places. You might feel inspired to read or even write stories, just like Judy Blume!
