All about José Martí

A Visit to Cuba

Hi, my name is Natalie and I am 8 years old. I recently went on a trip to Cuba with my family, and it was so exciting! One of the places we visited was the José Martí Memorial in Havana. José Martí is a very famous person in Cuba, and I learned a lot about him during our visit.

1. We walked around the memorial and saw a huge statue of José Martí. It was so tall!
2. There was a museum inside the memorial where we saw pictures and artifacts from José Martí's life.
3. I learned that José Martí was a writer and a poet, and he fought for Cuban independence.
4. One of my favorite parts was seeing the beautiful gardens surrounding the memorial. They were so colorful!
5. Visiting the José Martí Memorial made me feel proud to learn about such an important person in Cuban history.
