Visit to the Birthplace of Ghost

Hi, my name is Emily and I am 8 years old. Today, I want to tell you about my amazing visit to the birthplace of one of my favorite authors, Jason Reynolds. You may have read some of his awesome books like "Ghost" or "Long Way Down." Well, guess what? He was born in Washington, D.C., the capital city of the United States of America!

During my trip, my family and I went to Washington, D.C. We visited the Anacostia neighborhood, which is where Jason Reynolds was born. It was so exciting to walk around the same streets where he grew up. I imagined what it would be like to be a writer and have my own books loved by so many people.

While we were in Washington, D.C., we also visited the famous National Mall. It's a big park with lots of museums and monuments. My favorite place was the Lincoln Memorial. It's a huge statue of Abraham Lincoln sitting in a chair. I climbed up the steps and took a picture. I felt like I was a part of history!
