Hi, my name is Veronica and I am 8 years old. Today, I want to tell you about my amazing visit to the birthplace of J.R.R. Tolkien. It was so much fun!
We traveled to the city of Bloemfontein, which is located in South Africa. Did you know that J.R.R. Tolkien, the famous author of "The Lord of the Rings," was born there? I think that's really cool!
When we arrived in Bloemfontein, the first thing we did was visit the J.R.R. Tolkien Birthplace Museum. It was like stepping into a magical world! The museum had lots of interesting exhibits about Tolkien's life and his famous books. I learned that he loved nature and that he was inspired by the beautiful landscapes around Bloemfontein. I even got to see some of the original manuscripts he wrote!
After the museum, we went to another tourist attraction called the Free State National Botanical Garden. It was enormous, with so many different types of plants and flowers. I felt like I was in a secret garden! We had a picnic there and I saw some birds and butterflies too.
I had such an exciting day exploring the birthplace of J.R.R. Tolkien and learning about his life. It made me want to read all of his books! I hope one day I can write amazing stories just like him.
