Symbols and Traditions

Hi everyone! My name is Penny, and I am 8 years old. Guess what? I just visited Hogwarts! It's the magical school where Harry Potter studied. J.K. Rowling, who wrote the Harry Potter books, made it famous.

We went to the Hogwarts Castle, and it was so cool! I saw Dumbledore's office and the Great Hall where they have big feasts. My favorite part was the Gryffindor common room. It looked just like in the movies with cozy chairs and a big fireplace.

We also took a ride on the Hogwarts Express. The train is red and shiny, just like in the stories. I even got to sit in one of the compartments. It felt like I was going to start my first year at Hogwarts!

Another awesome part was visiting Hogsmeade. I tried butterbeer and it was yummy! We also went to Honeydukes, the candy shop. I bought some Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. They have some crazy flavors like earwax and vomit, but I got lucky and only got the yummy ones.

This trip was the best! I felt like a real wizard. I can't wait to tell all my friends at school about it.
