Visit to the Birthplace of The Boxcar Children series

Hi, my name is Daniel and I am 8 years old. Today, I want to tell you about my exciting visit to the birthplace of Gertrude Chandler Warner. She is the author of one of my favorite book series, The Boxcar Children.

Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in Putnam, Connecticut, which is a small town in the United States. My family and I got to visit there during our vacation last summer. Putnam is a lovely city, with lots of old buildings and beautiful scenery. It was so cool to think that Gertrude grew up here and wrote all those amazing stories!

We went to see the house where Gertrude was born. It's called the Gertrude Chandler Warner Birthplace, and it's now a museum. Inside, we learned all about Gertrude's life and how she came up with the idea for The Boxcar Children. I even saw the typewriter she used to write her books! It was like stepping into the world of The Boxcar Children.
