Visit to the Birthplace of The Princess and the Goblin

Hi everyone! My name is Sophie and I am 8 years old. Today, I want to tell you all about my recent visit to the birthplace of George MacDonald. Who is George MacDonald, you might ask? Well, he was a famous author who wrote lots of amazing stories that kids like me love to read!

So, where is the birthplace of George MacDonald, you might wonder? It is located in a city called Huntly, in Scotland. I was really excited to visit this place because I love reading books, and I wanted to see where such a great author was born.

When we arrived in Huntly, we first went to see the George MacDonald House. It was a beautiful old house with a big garden. Inside the house, there were lots of things that belonged to George MacDonald, like his writing desk and some of his original manuscripts. It was so cool to imagine him sitting there, writing all those amazing stories!

After visiting the birthplace, we went to a really fun tourist attraction in the same city. It was the Huntly Castle! The castle was huge and had lots of towers and secret passages. I felt like a princess exploring the castle grounds. The views from the top of the castle were breathtaking!
