All about Emiliano Aguinaldo

Emiliano Aguinaldo was a very important person in the history of the Philippines. He was born on March 22, 1869, in a small town called Kawit. When he was young, the Philippines was under the control of Spain, but Emiliano wanted his country to be independent.

Emiliano became a leader at a young age. He joined a group called the Katipunan, which fought for freedom from Spanish rule. He became their leader and led many battles against the Spanish soldiers.

In 1898, something amazing happened. The United States declared war on Spain, and they helped the Filipinos fight for independence. Emiliano became the first president of the Philippines, and he declared the country's independence on June 12, 1898.

But the story doesn't end there. The United States took control of the Philippines, which made Emiliano very sad. He continued to fight for independence, but unfortunately, he was captured by the Americans in 1901.

Emiliano lived a long life and became a symbol of the fight for freedom in the Philippines. He passed away on February 6, 1964, at the age of 94. Even though he didn't see the Philippines become fully independent in his lifetime, his bravery and determination inspired many people to keep fighting for their country's freedom.

Next, we went to the Freedom Park. This is a park that was built to honor Emiliano Aguinaldo and his role in the country's fight for independence. It had a big statue of him, and I even got to take a picture next to it. It was really cool!
