Symbols and Traditions

Hi! My name is Ian and I am 8 years old. I want to tell you about my visit to Maine. It was so much fun! We went there because E. B. White, who wrote "Charlotte's Web," was famous there. I love "Charlotte's Web" because it has a pig named Wilbur and a spider named Charlotte who are best friends.

One of the coolest things we did in Maine was visit a place called Brooklin. That’s where E. B. White lived. We even saw a farm that looked like the one in "Charlotte's Web." It had a big barn and lots of animals. I imagined Wilbur running around and Charlotte spinning her web. I felt like I was inside the book!

We also went to a museum that had some of E. B. White’s old stuff, like his typewriter and some pictures. It was really neat to see the things he used to write his books. I learned a lot about him and how he loved nature and animals, just like me.

After the museum, we had some yummy ice cream and played by the ocean. Maine is a really cool place, and I hope we can go back someday. If you love "Charlotte's Web," you should definitely visit Maine. It feels like you are stepping into the story!
