Long, long ago, people in Ireland lived on farms and in small villages. Coolmine was one of those places. It was named 'Coolmine' which means 'Back of the bog' in Irish because it was located near a big, squishy bog. Bogs are like nature's playgrounds, with lots of interesting plants and animals.

Over time, more and more people moved to Coolmine. They built homes, schools, and even a railway station! The railway station, built in 1847, helped people travel to other places easily. It's like having a magic carpet that can take you to exciting new places!

Coolmine may not have seen big battles or famous kings, but it's the small, everyday stories that make this townland special. My Family and Coolmine

Hi there! I'm Zane and I'm 8 years old. I live in a pretty cool place called Coolmine in Co. Dublin. There's always something to do here!

There's this big green park near my house where I love playing football with my friends. It's called Coolmine Park. We have so much fun there, especially when it's sunny and we can have picnics. The park is filled with lots of beautiful trees and colourful flowers. Sometimes, we even see squirrels!

Also, we have a train station in Coolmine. It's really cool because it's where my dad takes the train to work every day. And I love watching the trains go by. They're so fast and make a loud 'choo-choo' sound.

But my favourite place in Coolmine is our local library. I love reading books and the library has sooo many! My favourite books are about adventures and magic. I think books are like doors to other worlds. Isn't that cool?

So, that's a little bit about me and where I live. Coolmine is a great place to grow up! Bye for now!
