My Family and Clone

Hi there! I'm Jamie, and I'm 8 years old. I live in Clone Co. Wicklow, and it's such a cool place to be. We have lots of pretty landscapes and cool spots to play and explore. My favourite place is the Wicklow Mountains. They are super tall and when you climb to the top, you feel like you can touch the sky!

Another place I love is the Powerscourt Waterfall. It's the highest waterfall in Ireland! Isn't that amazing? The water falls down so fast, it's like a race. Sometimes, I imagine I'm racing with it. Who do you think wins? I also love to play hide and seek in the woods near the waterfall. The trees are so big and there are so many places to hide.

Then there's the Glendalough. It has two lakes that are super pretty. We often go for picnics near the lakes. It's a lot of fun. Living in Clone Co. Wicklow is like being on a never-ending adventure. There's always something new to see or do. Bye for now!

Clone is a place in County Wicklow, Ireland. The name 'Clone' is an English version of the Irish word 'Cluain', which means 'meadow' or 'pasture'. So, when you hear 'Clone', think of a green, grassy meadow.

Long ago, people in Ireland spoke only Irish, but when English speakers came, they often changed the names of places to sound more English. That's how 'Cluain' became 'Clone'. But don't worry, the meadows are still there!
