Hi, my name is Amelia and I'm 8 years old! Today, I want to tell you about a super cool trip I took with my family. We went to visit the birthplace of one of my favorite authors, Celia C. Pérez. Her birthplace is in a city called Chicago, which is in the United States of America. Isn't that awesome?
We started our adventure by going to the neighborhood where Celia C. Pérez was born. It's called Humboldt Park, and it's located in the beautiful city of Chicago. We walked around the streets and saw the houses where she used to live. I imagined what it would have been like for her to grow up in this vibrant place.
After exploring Humboldt Park, we headed to a famous tourist attraction in Chicago called Millennium Park. It's a huge park with lots of cool things to see and do. I was amazed by the gigantic shiny bean sculpture called "Cloud Gate." It was so fun to walk underneath it and see my reflection in its shiny surface!
We also visited the Crown Fountain, which has two big towers that display faces of people spitting water. It was really hot that day, so I splashed around in the water with other kids. It was so refreshing!
I had such an amazing time visiting the birthplace of Celia C. Pérez and exploring Millennium Park in Chicago. It was a day filled with lots of fun and adventure. I can't wait to read more books by Celia C. Pérez and maybe even write my own someday!
