My Family and Carrowcastle

Hi, I'm Morgan and I'm 8 years old. I live in a beautiful place called Carrowcastle in Co. Mayo. It's really cool here because we have so many neat things all around us.

My favourite place is the Carrowmore Lake. It's really big and shiny, and sometimes you can see fishes jumping out of the water. It's so funny! My dad and I go fishing there, and one time, I caught a fish bigger than my arm!

Then there's the Nephin Mountain. It's so tall, I think it touches the sky. Sometimes, we climb up a little bit, but not too far because it's really high. But from where we stand, the view is amazing. We can see the whole village and the lake from there.

There's also the Crossmolina Church. It's very old and has a big bell that rings every hour. I like it when it rings, it's like it's talking to the whole village.

Oh, and the best thing is, I can see all these places from my bedroom window. I feel lucky to live here in Carrowcastle. It's the best place ever!

  1. Can you tell me why Morgan likes living in Carrowcastle?
  2. Can you describe what Morgan sees when he/she looks out of his/her bedroom window?
  3. Can you explain how Morgan feels when he/she hears the church bell ring?
  4. Can you recall a time when Morgan went fishing with his/her dad at Carrowmore Lake?
  5. Can you imagine what it's like to climb up Nephin Mountain with Morgan?
