My Family and Bohernaghty

Hi, I'm Ollie, and I'm 8 years old. I live in a special place called Bohernaghty, in Co. Laois. My home isn't like the cities you see on TV. It's a quiet place with green fields and old buildings. There are lots of cool things to see here.

One of my favorite spots is the old windmill. It's really big and when the wind blows, it makes a 'whoosh' sound. I like to imagine it's a giant's house, and I'm on an adventure to save the village.

We also have a small river running through Bohernaghty. I love to watch the ducks swimming there. Sometimes, I throw bread crumbs for them to eat. They make funny 'quack' sounds, which always make me laugh.

There's an ancient tree in our backyard. Dad says it's older than everyone in Bohernaghty. I like to play hide and seek with my friends around that tree. It's big enough to hide three of us at once!

Life in Bohernaghty might be different from the city, but I love it here. There's always an adventure waiting around the corner!
