Welcome to Ballyprecas |
Ballyprecas is a charming little townland nestled in the beautiful county of Wexford, Ireland. Long ago, before your grandparents were born, this place was full of exciting stories!
Many years ago, Ballyprecas was mainly farmland, with cows, sheep, and horses grazing. The people living there were farmers who worked hard to grow crops and take care of the animals. They used old-fashioned tools because tractors hadn't been invented yet!
The most exciting thing to happen in Ballyprecas was the discovery of an ancient treasure! Some farmers, while digging in the field, found an old, rusty box. Inside it were shiny gold coins and precious jewels that had been buried for hundreds of years! Historians believe these treasures belonged to the ancient Celts, the first people who lived in Ireland.
Today, Ballyprecas is a peaceful place with lush green fields, beautiful gardens, and friendly people. But whenever you visit, remember its wonderful history and imagine the exciting life of the farmers and the hidden treasures beneath your feet!

Hi, I'm Bailey, I'm 8 years old and I live in a place called Ballyprecas, in Co. Wexford. It's really cool here, we have lots of fun things to do. We've got a big park with a super tall slide and a swing set that makes you feel like you're flying. I like playing there with my friends after school.
There's also an old castle near my house. It's actually kinda spooky, but I like to pretend I'm a brave knight protecting it from dragons. Sometimes, my dad takes me fishing at the Ballyprecas Lagoon. He says it's a special place 'cause it's one of the only saltwater lagoons in Ireland. We catch lots of fish, but we always throw them back. I think they're happier in the water.
One of my favourite things about Ballyprecas is the beach. In summer, it's the best place for building sandcastles and having picnics. I love listening to the waves and finding shells. Ballyprecas is a great place to live, and I can't wait to grow up here. Bye for now!

Long, long ago, people noticed many crows in this area. They named it after these birds. Crows were important to these people. They thought crows were smart and strong, just like they wanted their town to be. That's how Ballyprecas got its name!
