Welcome to Ballinlawless

Ballinlawless, which means 'town of the lawless' in Irish, has been around for several hundreds of years. Although it isn't known for any major historical events, its history is still fascinating. Long ago, when Ireland was full of small kingdoms, Ballinlawless was part of a larger area ruled by a Gaelic chief.

Over time, people built homes, farms, and roads, shaping the townland into what it is today. The people of Ballinlawless were mostly farmers who worked hard to grow crops and raise animals. They lived simple, peaceful lives, raising their families and supporting each other as a community.

Today, you can still see traces of Ballinlawless' past. Old stone walls, used to separate properties and keep animals from wandering, dot the landscape. These walls are a reminder of the hardworking people who once lived here and their contribution in making Ballinlawless a lovely place to live.

My Family and Ballinlawless

Hi! I'm Elliot, and I'm 8 years old! I live in a super cool place called Ballinlawless, Co. Galway. It's in Ireland. One of the best things here is the big, old castle. I love exploring it with my friends. We pretend we are brave knights on a quest!

There's also a beautiful river that flows through our town. I like to sit by it and watch the ducks. They quack a lot and it makes me laugh. Sometimes, we have picnics there. Mum packs our favourite sandwiches and we have so much fun.

Our town is also famous for its green, rolling hills. I love running up and down these hills. It's tiring but so exciting! I feel like I can touch the sky when I'm on top of the hills!

Oh, and we have a lovely old church. It's really old and has a big bell that rings every hour. It's loud but I like the sound.

That's a little about me and where I live. I love Ballinlawless, it's the best place in the world!
