George

George is a wonderful book written by Alex Gino. It tells the story of a young boy named George who wants to be seen and accepted as a girl. George knows deep down that she is a girl, even though everyone else sees her as a boy. She dreams of playing the role of Charlotte, the main character in her school's play, Charlotte's Web. But there's a problem – George's teacher won't let her audition for the part because she's a boy. With the help of her best friend, Kelly, George comes up with a plan to show everyone who she really is.

Visit to the Birthplace of George

Hi everyone! My name is Victoria and I'm 8 years old. Today, I want to tell you all about my amazing visit to the birthplace of one of my favorite authors, Alex Gino. It was such an exciting trip!

We traveled to the nearest city, which is called Portland. Portland is in the beautiful country of the United States. It's a really cool city with lots of interesting things to see and do.

When we arrived in Portland, we went straight to the city library. Did you know that Alex Gino was born right here in Portland? That's so awesome! The library had a special exhibit about Alex Gino and their books. I got to see all the books they wrote and learn more about their life.

After the library, we visited a famous tourist attraction in Portland called the Powell's City of Books. It's the biggest independent bookstore in the entire world! Can you believe it? There were so many books, I didn't know where to start. I spent hours exploring all the different sections and even found some books by Alex Gino to add to my collection.
